Does the Brita filter help cheap red wine taste & smell better and reduce hangovers?

Beginner
A Brita filter is a type of water filter that is designed to reduce contaminants and impurities in drinking water. Brita filters are commonly used in households and are available in a variety of forms, including pitcher filters, faucet-mounted filters, and under-sink filters.

Brita filters work by using a process called adsorption, which involves the removal of contaminants from water through the use of a porous material. Brita filters typically use a type of activated carbon made from coconut shells as the adsorbent material. Activated carbon has a high surface area and is highly porous, which makes it an effective material for removing a wide range of contaminants from water.

When water passes through a Brita filter, the contaminants and impurities in the water are attracted to the surface of the activated carbon and are adsorbed onto it. The purified water is then able to pass through the filter and is ready for drinking.

Brita filters are effective at reducing a wide range of contaminants from drinking water, including chlorine, lead, and mercury. In addition, Brita filters can also reduce the levels of certain pollutants, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and pesticides, which may be present in water.

It’s worth noting that Brita filters are not designed to remove all contaminants from water. Some contaminants, such as bacteria and viruses, are too small to be effectively removed by a Brita filter. In addition, Brita filters are not effective at removing inorganic contaminants, such as heavy metals, from water.

Using a Brita filter to filter alcohol is one way of removing congeners. Congeners are molecules that are natural (and some unnatural) and created during the fermentation process. They contribute to the bad smell and taste of cheap alcohol, as well as hangovers! You’ll need to filter things 3-4x for best results and top shelf liquor has already been through filtration MANY times (that’s why they charge more).

There are a lot of misconceptions out there regarding hangovers and hangover cures. The biggest one is that dehydration causes all of the issues. I am retired military (Airborne Infantry) and now, a Doctor. I HATED hangovers when I was in the service, especially the headaches, nausea, hangxiety, and thinking about the beating I just gave my liver. So I designed BetterMorning to take care of it all!

BEFORE ALCOHOL — Certain B-vitamins are sapped by the metabolism of alcohol. Priming your body and preemptively replenishing them can save you a big headache in the morning. For overall liver health, well, licorice root and milk thistle have you covered.

AFTER ALCOHOL — Acetaldehyde is a big part of why you feel like crud after drinking. Good thing we loaded up our product with ingredients like cysteine and alpha-lipoic acid that replenish glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant.

THE MORNING AFTER — Well, you survived the night but what about the morning? Ginger is nature’s remedy for that all too familiar nausea. Worried about “hangxiety” and the Sunday Scaries caused by GABA rebound? We have that covered as well with DHM.

Licorice Root: Traditionally used to soothe digestion and stomach acid, licorice root also promotes healthy liver enzyme production.

Milk Thistle: Milk thistle is one of the most well-known liver health supplements. The liver helps the body remove toxins and converts nutrients from our body into substances we can use, it needs all the support it can get!

Dihydromyricetin (DHM): Long considered to be a liver supplement, DHM has a long history of use related to drinking. It is best known for its ability to minimize GABA rebound to combat “hangxiety” and the Sunday Scaries.

Ginger: Long hailed as the key to a healthy digestive system, it can also help with occasional nausea, vomiting, or dizziness. It is included to help turn your stomach into a steel trap and assist with morning nausea.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA): Naturally occurring in the human body in small amounts, ALA helps the body produce glutathione and to recycle vitamins C and E, which promotes antioxidant support so the body can deal with toxins such as acetaldehyde from alcohol’s metabolism.

B-Vitamin Complex: Contains key B vitamins that play an important role in energy metabolism to aid in the conversion of food into energy while minimizing post-drinking headaches and helping the body process toxins.

L-Cysteine: Cystine is a precursor to the antioxidant glutathione, an antioxidant which helps your body deal with toxins such as acetaldehyde from alcohol’s metabolism.
