Uganda’s Bobi Wine: ‘The situation is desperate’

Beginner
The opposition party in Uganda is calling for the release of its leader Bobi Wine, who has been under house arrest since polling day, and the re-election of long-term President, Yoweri Museveni.

Mr Wine says military troops have surrounded his home, not allowing him to leave, who claim they are protecting him for his own safety.

He also raised concerns about the safety of colleagues, after their headquarters were allegedly raided.
