The Beginners Guide to SHERRY Wine (JEREZ)

Wine Types
Jerez or Sherry wine is a fortified wine from Andalucia, Spain. There are many different styles of Sherry – from fresh and dry to lusciously sweet. In this video I will briefly talk about the most popular Sherry styles, such as Fino, Manzanilla, Amontillado, Oloroso and Palo Cortado, however, each style is worth a video of its own. I will talk about Sherries made from Palomino Fino, Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel grape varieties, different ageing processes of Sherry, including biological ageing (under flor) and oxidative ageing (in old oak barrels) and give you basic understanding of this wonderful, yet difficult to categorize fortified wine.

If you like Sherry wine or you are interested to know more about other fortified wines, I recommend watching my other videos on this subject:
