Winemaking 101: Punchdowns with Marcus Goodfellow

Beginner
Punchdowns are a key part of making red wine and each winemaker seems to have a slightly different approach as to how to best address the cap of grapes that develop during fermentation. Marcus Goodfellow at Matello Wines demonstrates a punchdown and talks about how he likes to mix the grapes and fermenting juice. Ask a Winemaker filmed with Marcus on location at Matello Wines in 2013.
