Bill Spence – Matua Wines

Wine Types
The Matua winery was started in New Zealand by brothers Bill and Ross Spence. We sat down with Bill to learn about the origins of the Matua name and its importance in New Zealand culture. Bill and his brother also have the unique honor of pioneering Sauvignon Blanc production in New Zealand. The “Spence Clone”, cuttings from their vines, is currently being used in Sauvignon Blanc production world wide.
