Sauvignon Blanc from Hawkes Bay New Zealand: The Supernatural

Beginner
Winemaker Gabrielle Simmers of &Co describes Hawke’s Bay and the Sauvignon Blanc that she makes there. Few of her neighbors make Sauvignon Blanc in the region, which is known more for reds. Gabrielle makes “The Supernatural”, a Sauvignon Blanc from limestone soils. She sat down with Ask a Winemaker at Red and White Wines in Chicago in June 2013.
