Wine Education 101: Sara Dionisio describes Baga

Beginner
What is Baga? The Baga grape is a late ripening red Portugese variety that is not easy to grow in every vintage but which can produced long lived wines in the Doa, Douro and Bairrada, among others. At Casa de Mouraz there is a single vine from before phylloxera that they are working to propagate. Sara sat with Ask a Winemaker at Red and White Wines in January of 2014.
