This is part 2 of our essential guide to understanding Portuguese Port wines. In part 1 we talked about how and where ports are made, if you haven’t watched it you can catch up on it here. Today I want to discuss the different styles Ports comes with.

A lot of people get confused with Port styles, because there are indeed a few styles, and unless you know those names, you’re never really sure what you’re buying and what it’s going to taste like. So, for the sake of simplicity, I’ve divided the styles that taste really fruity, more like a fresh grape juice, with loads of red berry flavors that I’ll focus in this episode, from the aged Ports that taste more oxidized and more savory called the tawny Ports that I’ll detail in the our next episode.
