The Classic Experience of Old & Rare Wines

Beginner
David Kohl explains the nuances of examining + enjoying Old & Rare wines, highlighting an impeccable bottle of 1969 Remoissenet Premier Cru from Burgundy’s Volnay region. Old & Rare wines are perfectly preserved, having been temperature controlled during the aging process. Most likely these wines are located in private collector cellars, rather than retail stores. When the cork removes smoothly and completely intact, this is an excellent sign. As to the instance of low shoulder fill, this is not necessarily an indication of fault. This 1969 Remoissenet has a low shoulder but a tasting reflects that the 55 year old vintage is still in fine form for a classic experience. Don’t be surprised if the wine continues to evolve and develop in your glass after it’s poured. #oldandrare #remoissenet #winevideo #oldburgundy #volnay
